Are not really that big at all, overall with all the Knights Of Columbus Jurisdictions which put competitions onto YouTube.
Let's Face Facts-unless the contestant can sing(Jenna Rose or Justin Bieber), there aren't going to be any big numbers. Another thing-YouTube is overcrowded with Council, District, Regional, Super Regional & State/Provincial K of C Competitions. There is no room to grow on YouTube. Being someone who broke in via New Media, I can say that I know that there are a good number of quality Video Sharing Services. Not only that, but various "Soccer Moms From The Underworld", who have never loaded a video onto YouTube, should not be trying to make policy as to where the Producer/Director places the video. They only understand what they hear, or read in the newspaper.
With blip.tv, there is the added advantage of having the option of an iTunes Download. On Vimeo, one can download the source video. On Dailymotion, no one spams the video. But on YouTube, there is Spam & assorted Fakers all over that system, not to mention that one video ended up on a gambling site.
That is why I chose to use Video Sharing Services of greater quality. Those services also pointed out that YouTube is greatly overrated.
6500+Viewers for this Historic Coverage, with 5700 of them NOT on YouTube. Rather, the venture succeeded by going to uncluttered sites. The Competitions, hence, are NOT The Exclusive Province of YouTube.
And it should never be the case.
