It Used To Be A Local Contest For New Yorkers
Now, the Nathan's 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest is on ESPN. I can THINK of more intelligent pursuits to be telecast by ESPN. Even Better, it should be Webcast, as New Media is more interactive & a lot more creative:
"The Omnipotent Q's Trivia Challenge From Professor Thom's In NYC" & you should hear The Names of those teams which compete. John Brian Quinn, a Native of Brooklyn(Yes, THAT Brooklyn, as in New York, now in a Renaissance Period[Can You Spell Williamsburg]), is The Trivia Master. Questions he asks, can stump many a person, but it's fun;
Over on YouTube, not noted for anything of brilliance & more noted for Children who "Sing", is a parody of Abstinence Groups, called "Watchaholics Anonymous(Sports)", produced by my good friend & 1st Director, an Absurdist named Amanda Cole(Cambridge & Brookline, Boston Area), based in the NY Area. Do watch this parody. Amanda is cool & daring.
