Is Skype Overrated?

Quite possibly it is, unless you have clients or friends overseas.
What I use here on the iPod Touch 4G, are apps just as useful & free to boot.
Text Free gives you an actual mobile phone #, which allows for unlimited text messaging. It now allows you to download other apps so you can add minutes so you can make mobile phone calls here in the US to any mobile or landline phone. I have over 225 minutes & do use these minutes a few times a week.
Then, there is the NetTalk App, the most popular Social App in Canada, which allows for unlimited free calls to mobile & landline phones in the US & Canada.
Both apps are available in the iTunes App Store. Both are recommended by me, if you have an iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone & want to save on your phone minutes, especially on AT&T & Verizon Wireless systems in the USA or over Rogers in Canada. Do find a Wi-Fi Hotspot to make these calls to preserve your data plan.
Why pay Skype, when all of this is free?
M
