This location called Yankee Stadium on the South Side of West 161st Street, between River Avenue and West 157th Street in The Bronx, is NOT the Original Yankee Stadium. It is not even close.
People across the Continent have been duped into believing that Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and Joe Di Maggio, all called THIS Stadium their Home. Please let me let loose with a huge belch, as The Original Stadium did NOT have Escalator Towers nor a Video Board. It was not the Actual Home of the "Black Yankees" of the Negro Leagues, as they played in New Jersey, except for a couple of games in Yankee Stadium I.
In fact, the 1st Home of The NY Yankees was where NY Presbyterian Hospital is now. Could it be said that Hilltop Park was the 1st Yankee Stadium?
Perhaps not as Yankee Stadium I and II are associated with Winners, while Hilltop Park played host to the team called The NY Highlanders, forerunners to the Yankees Name.
The Media called the team The Yankees. In Hilltop Park, a one level stadium with a roof, The Yankees weren't all that competetive. One could've heard that earliest rendition of "Yankees Suck." But that cry of Red Sox Nation only came into being in the "Era Of George Steinbrenner."
But Yankee Stadium II actually belongs to the "Era of Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera", not Ruth, or Mantle. Their Stadium of 51 Seasons is long gone, replaced by a 1970s Ballpark, no more magnificent than Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. In fact, Praeger-Kavanaugh-Waterbury was architect for Dodger Stadium, the Now Departed Shea Stadium and the Now Departing Yankee Stadium II.
Yankee Stadium I is long gone. That 1970s Iteration will soon be gone as well.
So much for the Baseball Fallacy of Yankee Stadium 1923-2008, as it was only a marketing ploy to deceive the Naive.

If one has iWork on their Mac, be sure to download Neo Office, a full suite of Office Functions for free.
Neo Office reads, exports and saves MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as in Open Office, Star Office and WordPerfect formats as well as PalmDoc.
iWork is good for writing and page layout, ad well as for presentations. But it helps to have Neo Office along for more complex files.
