Mets Fans & Shea Stadium

There is something to be said for Mets Fans:
They actually took more of a part in mourning the loss of Shea Stadium. In fact they took more of a part of mourning the loss of Shea Stadium than the Yankees Fans took in mourning the loss of the prior Yankee Stadium.
You see, Shea Stadium was the site of Joys and Sorrows. Plus, Shea actually housed more enthusiastic fans. Shea was a place where Red Sox Nation could sit in exile and was less expensive to go to than Yankee Stadium. The real fans are actually more appreciative of their team than Yankees Fans could ever be. Shea was laid back.
Shea Stadium is missed & the fans there were real as they were both entertained and were entertaining. Anybody wearing a 13 A-Rod Jersey was serenaded. Red Sox Nation even learned a few chants from Mets Fans, mostly in connection with A-Rod.
Shea was The Real Deal.
And Shea is gone.
