The Other Shoe Dropped-Manuel & Minaya ARE OUT @ Citi Field

I should let you all know that due to all that Mediocrity which occurred on the Field in Citi Field, the Attendance at Mets Games dropped by 595K. It shouldn't surprise anyone that Shake Shack & other Concessions, are NOT the Main Reason WHY Mets Fans are headed to Baseball at Citi Field:

The Wilpons, They who own The NY MESS, I mean Mets, are responsible for this calamity in Corona, a Farce if ever I have seen one. Attendance from Massachusetts is up a bit as Red Sox Games are sold out events, so Citi Field is often Red Sox Nation's Next Destination, as #7 Line Schedules & Subway Maps can be seen on people in the Fenway-Kenmore Area. Trust me, I have seen this phenomena on the IRT 7 Train;

So to solve their problem, The Wilpons decided that as of today, Omar Minaya & Jerry Manuel, have been relieved of their duties as General Manager & Manager, respectively. In short, it was the chopping block after two consecutive losing seasons. This is ONLY a Surface Problem;

A Candid Admission that for 25 Years, Sterling Enterprises invested with Bernie Madoff. Sterling is headed by Fred Wilpon;

I would say that from the Winter of '06-'07, Omar Minaya did NOT have ANY AUTONOMY over the Baseball Operations of Sterling Mets LP, in that JEFFY was usurping power unto the point where S'r Minaya couldn't go to the Mens' Room without clearance from Jeffy. It was a case of Utterly Rank Amateurs running Operations where they had no business being. Currently, The Mets are the Butt Of Comedic Comments on "The Late Show With David Letterman". In short, they are a tragedy. ANY Professional Sports Operation which would order a Field Manager canned at 3:14AM, EDT, after winning on the West Coast, after being interfered with from People who have no business running the Baseball Operation, does NOT EVER earn my Respect. NEITHER should it ever earn your respect;

For The 1st Time since 1988, I did NOT enter a Major League Baseball Park to view a Game. I entertained NO THOUGHTS about Citi Field. Ever since the Firing of Willie Randolph, Who could Win On The Road, paying any Red Cent Of Tribute To these Rank Amateurs called Sterling Mets LP, has NOT entered my mind. Attendance, from what I could see on SNY, is down at Brooklyn Cyclones Games, as the Apple does NOT fall far from the tree;

THE NY METS are a SORROWFUL Farce. This all started with the Pretend GM, Jeffy, despising Willie Randolph over a Contract Extension. I find this somewhat amusing that Willie was Bench Coach when The Milwaukee Brewers took 3 out of 4 from The Mets at Citi Field. I know that in Jeffy's Case, he got what he deserved in Jerry Manuel;

Trifecta-Neat

Clay Buchholtz pitched a Nice & Neat 101 Pitch, 3 hit shutout, sparing Red Sox Nation the dull pain of the Bullpen Middle Relief as the Boston Red Sox ran roughshod all over the Baltimore Orioles, 11-Nil, in a match lasting 3:01:

Mr R.A. Dickey pitched a 4-3 Triumph by the NY Mets over The Florida Marlins & drove in a run with a hit, in the "Unfriendly, Cavernous Confines" of Citi Field in Corona, Queens;

The Yankees got clocked by Toronto at Rogers Centre last evening, 6-1. Yankees Starter AJ Burnett didn't have enough Gas to cut a decent one on the 4 Train;

Belmont Stakes are Later & I'm, as Gary Cohen would say, "Outta Here."

Tonight On "Pitcher, Catcher, Batter, JETER"

& You wonder WHY FOX Sports is on my "F--- The Riviera" List:

Red Sox Nation-NY was f---ed out of Red Sox @ Phillies, ONLY because FOX Sports elected to carry Yankees at Mets. Jason Bay went 4/4 & scored 2 Runs(Mets 5-3 Over Yankees);

But, Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched a gem, carrying a No-Hitter into the 8th Inning, as the Sawx defeated the Phillies 5-0. Luckily, the sound on FOX wasn't transmitted inside of Professor Thom's. One wonders HOW MANY Gratuitous mentions of Derek Jeter's name were mentioned by one Tim Mc Carver on this evening(17+ by the 3rd Inning-LOL);

I monitored Castiglione-O'Brien via MLB.Com & WRKO Feed, so I heard the No Hitter being broken up. It was NOT fun being linked to a game on FOX where the Owners of a Certain NL Team at Citi Field are so f---ing incompetent;

It sums up my evening;

Mets Fans & Shea Stadium

There is something to be said for Mets Fans:
They actually took more of a part in mourning the loss of Shea Stadium. In fact they took more of a part of mourning the loss of Shea Stadium than the Yankees Fans took in mourning the loss of the prior Yankee Stadium.
You see, Shea Stadium was the site of Joys and Sorrows. Plus, Shea actually housed more enthusiastic fans. Shea was a place where Red Sox Nation could sit in exile and was less expensive to go to than Yankee Stadium. The real fans are actually more appreciative of their team than Yankees Fans could ever be. Shea was laid back.
Shea Stadium is missed & the fans there were real as they were both entertained and were entertaining. Anybody wearing a 13 A-Rod Jersey was serenaded. Red Sox Nation even learned a few chants from Mets Fans, mostly in connection with A-Rod.
Shea was The Real Deal.
And Shea is gone.

Mac Using Manager Of My 1986 Opposition

One Does NOT Know Who One Is Going To Pass On The Street, Particularly By The West 14th Street/9th Avenue Apple Store.
Here are the ironies of this situation:
I am a Red Sox Blogger, living in Queens, wearing a Boston Red Sox Cap, who was crossing 9th Avenue at West 14th Street;
The Gentleman had a fully tanned face, whose face looked rather familiar;
In 1969's World Series, he was the Baltimore Orioles 2nd Baseman & the last out as he flew out to Cleon Jones in Left Field, in Game 5;
He managed the Red Sox Opposition in the 1986 World Series;
If you guessed that the Gentleman in Question is Davey Johnson, he a Piece of Shea Stadium Irony in that he was both the last out of the 1969 World Series & Manager of the 1986 World Series Champion NY Mets.
This other piece of trivia is that his operation was computerized.
Davey Johnson, you see, was a Mac User.

M-E-S-S, Mets, Mets, Mets

I Wonder How Many Mets Season Ticket Holders Have Given Up Their Plans?
Two gents, both of Irish Descent, had great seat locations at Shea Stadium. At Citi Field, the seating locations are rather obstructed and way up in Promenade in Left Field.
The Season Plans they had, are no more.

"Jose', Jose', Jose', Jose', Jose', Hose B"

"Jose', Jose', Jose' Jose', Jose' Jose"
Why the problem with the thyroid, Jose'?
According to a Knowledgeable Mets Fan(One who does NOT call into WFAN), Jose' Reyes is a reputed "Juicer", in other words, he may have been using Steroids.
So much for the end of "The Steroid Era"!

Game 6-10th Inning-1986 World Series-An Observation

Game 6 of the 1986 World Series in 10th Inning took place at Shea Stadium, which is now the site of the Citi Field Parking Lot. SNY was showing that Game 6 repeat after a Grapefruit League Contest with the Red Sox, where the Mets were creamed 8-2.
Now, I viewed a different Camera Angle, used by MLB Productions and from that angle, Red Sox Reliever Bob Stanley, CLEARLY uncorked a wild pitch in the at bat by William Heywood "Mookie" Wilson. Wilson was fouling off pitch after pitch, giving Stanley a battle at the plate.
Gedman actually had no chance.
But what should not be forgotten is that Calvin Schiraldi went to pieces with two out and no one on. This was nothing new for Calvin Schiraldi, the Red Sox Reliever, as he was in the Mets Organization from 1982 until 1985, traded for Bob Ojeda. Calvin had a history of "S--tting The Bed" at Shea Stadium." Granted, this was Schiraldi's Third Inning of Relief Duty, but he seemed to cruise along in the 10th Inning.
Schiraldi was there only because the starter, Mr. William Roger Clemens, complained about a blister and was removed. One wonders if the blister was to Roger's Ego.
My verdict is that Bob Stanley uncorked a wild pitch-case closed, perhaps panicking after being battled by Mookie Wilson. One never knows.

Red Sox-Mets Recap & Comments

It is the 5th Inning in Port St. Loathesome, FL, where the Boston Red Sox are leading the NY Mess, I mean Mets, 3-0, with Pedro Feliciano giving up a Base on Balls & a single. David Ortiz is at bat. Big Papi k'd swinging. Top of 5th is over. Game is on SNY in New York. At least Gary, Keith and Ron aren't any combination of Michael Kay and Al Leiter, so Red Sox Nation can sit back and relax watching this game. Though this is a National League Park, the DH is being used to protect pitchers. End of 5/Red Sox 3-0 over Mets.
This game involves the two teams I root for, with the Red Sox being the primary team. Besides, this game gives me a chance to go off on Mets Ownership(JEFFY?) for 9 Innings. Red Sox lead 4-0 in Top of the 6th inning with 1 Out. It is 5-0 Red Soc as a rendition of "Beat The Mets" is being sung. End of 6-Red Sox 5-0 over Mets. Anderson Hernandez is Mets SS and erred. Bowman at 3rd erred too, in top of 7th inning.6-0 Red Sox, as the Mets look like they patched together a lineup from Binghamton.
Bottom of 7th, Mike Jacobs homered to CF, 6-1 Red Sox. Jason Pridie drove one over 410 feet to make it 6-2 Red Sox.
8th Inning in a game of relative unknowns, mostly Pawtucket/Portland vs Buffalo/Binghamton. One can tell that Theo put together the Good System while one can tell which team must have been put together by Jeffy Wilpon. 8-2 Red Sox, mid 8th. Tazawa now relieving in bottom of 8th Inning. Three Up, three down. Top of 9th Elmer Dessens for the Mets in relief & he gets out unscathed.
Chris Carter, from the Billy Wagner Deal, k'd to end the game.
John Lackey wins it, while Mike Pelfrey loses it. Game time of 2:35.

Red Sox Vs Mets TV

Tomorrow's matchup will come from "Tradition Field" in Port Saint Lucie, FL & will be on SNY, hosted by Gary Cohen(Dartmouth-1987-Originally from Queens), Ron Darling(Yale-Grew Up in Worcester,MA) & Keith Hernandez(If you wonder about his blue eyes, his Mum was of Irish Descent). Game time is 1:10PM. Do NOTE that these are Broadcasters Red Sox Fans can listen to, WITHOUT throwing objects throughout the house. They are NOT from YES(Yankees Entertainment SUCKS). We in NY, who couldn't get NESN during last year's series at Fenway Park, had no problem with Gary, Keith & Ron:

On Saint Patrick's Day, NESN, at 1:10PM, with Don Orsillo & Gerald Peter Remy, will carry the Game from Fort Myers(City Of Palms Park). While we prefer Don & Jerry, Gary, Keith & Ron do a fine job keeping Red Sox Nation-NY entertained & informed;

These Guys are NOT even close to annoying. At least they aren't those SHILLS from "Al-Yankeezeera."

S-N-O-W, Snow, Snow, Snow & Baseball Games Resume On Wednesday

Everyone's in camp in Florida & AZ, with the Red Sox at Fort Myers, also Home to The Twins. The Twins will open in a new park, Target Field In Minneapolis. The Red Sox Will have Lackey, Josh Beckett on the starting staff. Jason Varitek returns in the Role, new to him, called Catcher #2, backing up Victor Martinez. Who Knows what The Trio will add on to Fenway Park! & The Carmine Hose will open their sked with Boston College:

At Least they will NOT have Eric Gagne', a reliever who set the All Time SUCKING Record by blowing 2 Games to The Orioles in one weekend, serving up "Meatballs", causing for a Hostile Crowd at Professor Thom's in The East Village. That was after he was traded & was supposed to be the Setup guy to end all setup men.

Speaking of Thom's, One of The Owners has returned. Jim Mc Guire has returned with Full Handlebar Moustache. Feck The Feckin' Riviera, Dudes & Dudettes!

Meanwhile, JEFFY & his Mutts are in Port St Lucie, & One Wonders about how few games will be won by them. How Long before a Citi Field Boycott, where Mets Fans run Jeffy & Company out on a rail, Civil War Style;

The Yankees of 27 World Championships, in a Bandbox rivaling Ebbets Field & all the High Views of Shea Stadium? Feck The Feckin' Yankees;

Can Joe Buck & Tim Mc Cavah be far behind? I think They're on "The Riviera List", that's all I know;

Minaya Has "No Autonomy" As JEFFY Calls All The Shots & It Shows

Minaya hired Willie Randolph, which was a Good Choice. Omar signed a contract extension for Willie. Willie, like Omar, watched his Baseball from the Upper Level Regions of Shea Stadium:

JEFFY didn't like Willie(For Beating Jeffy out of $.55, which was once the price of a cup of Rheingold Beer). Jeffy vowed to FIX Ol' Willie by Severely Limiting the Bullpen, not allowing Minaya to re-sign Darren Oliver & Chad Bradford, Two Very Quality Relievers. Jeffy wanted Willie out of the way, at all costs;

Jeffy & Freddie & Uncle Sol were too busy running the Farewell To Shea & Citi Field Fundraiser to care about a Winner & It Shows Today;
