From All Of Your Cousins In Red Sox Nation

That Ancient Childhood Chant

That Ancient Chant from Childhood in Brooklyn, is being heard again in Queens. It is as if music to my ears. It is as if Shea Stadium is still standing. It is a chant signifying that I am NOT a Yankees Fan.
To those of Red Sox Nation In New England & New York, that dear, ancient chant is as if Gregorian Chant to my ears. One could almost imagine hearing the voice of "The Voice Of Summer In New York" as if it was Yesterday. To those of you in New England who remember him in the 1950s & on occasion in the 1960s, one could almost hear Bob Murphy over Radio & Television.
And that sweet, ancient chant of Childhood in Brooklyn is back, in full, flowering voice:
"Let's Go Mets", is being heard here in Queens, again.
Ok, it took the Johan Santana No Hitter to awaken the chant. Now it is a greeting on the streets.
To my brethren across Red Sox Nation, NY Mets Fans have a diabolical hatred for the NY Yankees. They actually Love Us. They share this city with the Bronx Bombers. And if Somebody is wearing a NY Mets Cap, they will know Baseball, the nuances & have actually been to a few games at Citi Field or Shea Stadium. Be careful of those people wearing Yankees Caps, for they just might only be Tourists. Yankee Stadium III is full of tourists. Citi Field, however, is where real Baseball Fans gather as well as real New Yorkers.
I still have a copy of "Meet The Mets" on my iPod Touch.
The trouble is, NY Mets Fans are still waiting for the proverbial "Other Shoe To Drop."
Like us in Red Sox Nation, who knew that feeling before 2004, Mets Fans, especially the ones who followed the Brooklyn Dodgers, have the same feelings.
But, Johan's No Hitter has created a new spirit.
"Let's Go Mets!"
So Be It!

Is The Great Sellout Streak Over

The other day, I received an email from The Boston Red Sox for a Promotional Day called "Social Media Day", at Fenway Park.
Interesting concept, but I think I will pass on it, as the App Store can supply that App. I usually went to Baseball Games to watch a game, talk to people &, in the case of Fenway Park, enjoy a Sausage Sandwich as well as the people around me.
I wonder if Fenway Park has Wi Fi Service.

Apps Of Incredible Usefulness

I still find You Tube a great app for uploading a quick railroad video, as one which I uploaded, is getting a load of hits. Commuter Railroads get a lot of views on You Tube these days, especially MBTA Commuter Rail & the Long Island Railroad.
Vimeo has a great app, whether for uploading or editing, by titling & Indie Music. Indie, Royalty Free Music, is in abundance on this app.
The iMovie App is great for editing, titling & light , ambient theme music, as well as for uploading to both Vimeo & You Tube as well as for CNN iReport & Facebook. It makes uploading a snap.
Posterous is a great little blogging app which links my blogs together & syndicated uploaded videos. Lately, I have been sending video over this app to Blip & my blogs. Many video views are coming via Posterous Spaces. It is my primary communications app. It handles heavier files rather quickly. And it is free like the air. "The Last Lock" series about 3 Catholic Schools merging in Brooklyn, is getting more views now than when they were 1st produced. Another set of segments will be linked to here from Vimeo.
The DailyMotion Viewing App, allows me to view some rather artistic films Director David Lynch thinks very highly of Dailymotion. More DailyMotion Videos will be coming this way, including the 2011 Queens District 28 Portion of the Knights Of Columbus Int'l Free Throw Basketball Championship. This coverage is the only High Definition coverage of that event, not originating on You Tube.
CBC Radio & CBC News are great apps for News Coverage from Canada. CBC Radio is for listening to Radio, while CBC News is for video & breaking news. It was from CBC News where I received the breaking news that both Gary Carter & Whitney Houston had passed on.
tumblr is both blogging & social & one can upload both video & audio, as well as writing a blog.
That is all for tonight. I am getting sleepy. Good Night'

Now Back To Your Irregularly Scheduled Boston Red Sox Coverage

Ok, let me explain to Red Sox Nation as to where I have been & what I have been doing. Let's just say that NONE of it is Baseball Related. I did not jump ship to cheer for The NY Yankees. I will root for the Yankees when Josef Goebbels is honored for Humanitarian Causes by B'Nai Brith.
Please realize that there is a new manager, one who has been out of touch with MLB for sometime. He has spent several years in Japan. At one point in 1999, in The Sporting News, he was called The Most Hated Manager in Baseball. But there is a good side to the Son In Law of Ralph Branca, for he infuriated that noted Baseball Nitwit, by the name of Jeffy Wilpon, who is also despised to no end by NY Mets Fans, not unlike M. Donald Grant.
For Bobby Valentine, a man of many skills, is Manager of the Boston Red Sox. Diplomacy, however, is not one of his skills. Since WHEN did Kevin Youkilis become Chopped Liver?
Terry Francona had the Patience Of Job. Bobby Valentine has all the Patience of Steve Jobs. Francona handled the Media, adeptly. Valentine blasts the goose liver out of players in the press.
Valentine seems to be playing to the Intellectually Challenged Callers to WEEI, WBZ-FM & WFAN in one felt swoop.
But, to be fair, the Red Sox have grown old in a lot of places. And Bobby V is terrific for younger players.

3-2 Cards Over Rangers

Funny but FOX Sports played The "FOX NFL Sunday" Theme as the World Series Theme.
Tim Mc Carver looks great with the grey hair. He looks better than he did with the Dye Job.
La Russa looks quite Good with the Tinted Glasses.

"Who Is Disrupting The Red Sox @ Home?"

Great Road Record but Home is where the team is falling apart.
Who is "The Disrupter?"

The Red Sox Dominate On The Road

But, for whatever reason, Fenway Park becomes a proverbial "Citi Field" in that Home is like the Road & Vice Versa.
The Question I MUST Ask is THIS-Is There a Massively-Disruptive, Undermining Individual, disrupting Operations at Home? (Think Antonio Bernezard & Jeffy Wilpon).

"Is Dave Wallace In The House?"

In 2004, Dave Wallace was Pitching Coach of The World Champion Boston Red Sox.
In 2000, he was Pitching Coach of the National League Champion NY Mets.
Currently, the Red Sox Pitching is falling apart. Wakefield's Knuckleball does not dance. Lester is lasting only until the 6th Inning. Lackey is a "Yankees Spy", he being that bad.
I look at it from this perspective-from the time of the deal to land one Eric Gagne', often called a "World Series Ring Thief", things have not been good for the Carmine Hose. It is, IMHO, a turning point.
I do remember 2006-it was not pretty. Al Nipper was Interim Pitching Coach. Nipper was a 1986 World Series Arsonist.
Jon Lester was diagnosed with a Lymphona. Part of The Lineup was out on the DL. It was NOT Fun.
Ernie Paicoupoulos is right-it is a "Bridge Year". Unfortunately, for Red Sox Fans in the NY Area, there are more bridges to leap from than one can shake a stick at.
Dave Wallace, WHERE are You?

Manny Ramirez Is A Wife Slapping Jerk

I know! The Days of "Manny Being Manny" have now become a memory & not always a good memory. Going batso on the Road Secretary, begging for trades in Mid-Season & later getting caught using Steroids, these are more of "Manny Being An A--h-le."

This Is The End of This Month & An Era In Brooklyn

Remember that Major League Baseball song by Terry Cashman, which ended with "Willie, Mickey & The Duke", well that club is reduced by 1 down to 1:
Yes, that Great Centerfielder, Edwin "Duke" Snyder, "The Duke Of Flatbush", died yesterday at age 84 in California.

"Dem Bums", known as the Brooklyn Dodgers, are becoming fewer in number.

I guess it all started in 1972, with the Passing of Gil Hodges & later that year with Jackie Robinson;

They Leave Dave Duncan & Suck Again

Funny how when Jeff Weaver, Jeff Suppan and Joel Piniero all pitched for the Cardinals, they look unstoppable. Then they sign elsewhere, and revert to SUCKTITUDE:

Like when Cinderella's Carriage turned into a pumpkin;

At Fenway Park in '08, Suppan heard some smart arse crack from me, which was "Soup's Off, Suppan-You Suck";
I made that crack in the Jordan's Furniture 3rd Base SRO area, as Suppan was being taken across Lansdowne Street by David Ortiz, JD Drew and Manny Ramirez;
Suppan was released by The Brewers the other day;
Jeff Weaver hasn't been heard from in awhile, while Joel Piniero has resumed his state of Sucktitude;

Either these guys learned nothing from Shelly Duncan's Father or these guys lost their nerve leaving Dave;
