A-Rod=A-DIVA

“A-Fraud=Diva Self”

One evening in the Foreign Land called East 161st Street & River Avenue in The Bronx, I listened to the Roll Call Chant by the Cultish Fanatics, called “The Bleacher Creatures” of Section 39 in Yankee Stadium. The Bleacher Creatures are noted for such things as yelling such memorable chants as “Box Seats Suck” & singing their own peculiar version of “YMCA”, by pointing en masse @ any fan in opposition gear(Red Sox & Mets Fans In Particular Get Razzed Worse than anybody), singing “Why Are You Gay.” In the Roll Call, the chant begins with “Derek Jeter” & he waves his glove. It's done with all of the players on the field. On one night, The Creatures chanted, with Rhythmic clapping, “A-Rod..A-Rod..A-Rod..A-Hole..A-Hole..A-Hole..A-Ho..A-Ho..A-Ho..A-Rod” before A-Rod waved his glove.
Even Yankee Fans deride him with the above chant. Chants of “C'mon A-Hole” are heard with frequency. Do they chant that because it's a New York City Colloquialism, or is he despised for his being such a Post-Season Failure? He was NOT a true deciding factor in the Yankees return to Post-Season. Jason Giambi's return from a lack of Steroids in '04, complete with green skin & substance use, not picked up in urine tests, may have altered the Yankees Season, as they were utterly mediocre(Can you say “Yankees Suck”; I sing that line whenever “Dirty Water” starts up in any of the bars in Manhattan, which cater to fans of The Olde Towne Team & there are 10 Pubs that do it there).
A-Rod only hits certain pitchers with any real fequency, especially Bartolo Colon, hence a smart decision on Mike Scoscia & Colon's part to forego pitching Game 5 of The '05 ALDS. A-Rod only hits in bunches & when nothing is on the line, as well as whenever the Yankees are involved in a blowout game. Mr Clutch, he's NOT. He broke up a shutout attempt on May 21st, '05, involving Yankees-Mets, during the Season Premiere of the Oft-Flatulent Series called “FOX Saturday Baseball Game of The Week”, a Game where The Lead Analyst, was working on “Double Jackass Overtime.”
A-Rod as A-Diva:
When he batted .032 in the '05 LDS, he said he played like a dog, so back pages of the NY Post & NY Daily News, displayed the headline “A-Dog”(Fans Around MLB Parks should start barking & chanting “A-Pooch” in '06);
I watched “The Brawl” of '04, & reading A-Diva's lips, he seemed to have uttered a combination of obscenities as well as a challenge to Jason Varitek. Instead of taking the base after getting plunked, he went into the act of a Classical Diva. He must thrive on being a Drama Queen;
The Ball Slap: After slapping the ball out of Bronson Arroyo's Glove(Bronson, NOT Brandon, Tim), he acted like he was a contestant on “American Idol”, in that he was insulted by the Droll One, Simon Covell, upon discovery that he commited an unlawful act, one which according to the Rules of Baseball, could've caused his ejection from The Game; “A-Diva” acted like nothing of consequence happened & was surprised at the result @ being caught; The Illustrious Joe Morgan, perhaps more Self-Aggrandizing than Tim Mc Carver, thought that “A-Diva” made a good play;
Perhaps, A-Fraud has issues in his life, such as his father abandoning him when he was 9, though he did have an Uncle who did take the father's place, though the father would've been preferable; he may lack Self-Esteem, so he seeks it by acting so self-important. The World of A-Rod can be summarized in one word, “Me”;
Alex Rodriguez was born in 1975 on the Island of MANHATTAN, NOT in La Republica Dominicana & is a Born & Bred US Citizen, NOT a Citizen of the Dominican Republic, so he should play Baseball for his country, the USA. Divas ALWAYS seek attention in any way possible, hence making A-Rod the consumate “A-DIVA”; ATTENTION CONSUMES Him;
Having said that, the Team of The US of A, has little chance of victory, as The Consumate Diva will be on that team, satisfying himself.

Nessa The Cantor

Nessa The Cantor

Within the last 24 Hours, I received some sad news. No one I knew had died, but someone I knew had lost her faith & is condemning loads of people who know & love her so very much.
An associate of mine had relayed the news. He looks a lot like FOX Saturday Baseball's Lead Play-By-Play Announcer Joe Buck.
This story begins for me, on Sunday, 12/01/96, during Monsignor Sherman Council Knights of Columbus Operations @ Sacred Heart Church in East Glendale, Queens. I was Grand Knight @ that time. I would call this period “The Dawn Of A Great Reawakening”, as this was the time of healing a long rift between Sacred Heart Parish & Monsignor Sherman Council. It was a major undertaking & a major special project of mine.
Simply put, we were selling chance books. It was a damp, rainy Sunday & people in Sacred Heart were looking @ us like “Who Cares About You Stranger.” Yet I was having a good time with the whole thing. I witnessed something sweet & heartfelt happening there.
An 8th Grader from Sacred Heart School was Cantor of the 9:30AM, 11:00AM & 12:30PM Masses. I was watching someone who was giving of herself. She may not have the Greatest Voice in the World (As one Past Grand Knight was once heard saying that she is AWFUL & gave him a headache as she wasn't singing but SCREAMING), but I was somewhat delighted by it, in fact, moved by this action of hers.
I thanked her after every Mass that Sunday. She was very polite. It would be a number of months before anything major would take place.
But on May 31st, 1997, I made a request which would make Sherman History. Nessa was asked to sing the 1st Appalachia Fund Mass, which was scheduled for Sunday June 1st, 1997 @ 9:30AM @ the Council. Nessa accepted the assignment & clearances were obtained from Sacred Heart Parish & her parents.
She sang all 4 Appalachia Fund Masses+my 2nd Installation. Funny thing though, when I remember her parents as outwardly-pious but were only keeping up appearances, as it would turn out, as her parents were getting their feet washed as a sign of honor, @ The Mass of The Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday @ Sacred Heart in East Glendale, they were only living together as both were divorced from other spouses & were trying to keep this a secret from their children & other Sacred Heart Parishioners.
Of course her appearances @ the Council infuriated those 2 Moral Paragons, a certain Father-Son Past Grand Knight Duo, unto the point of spreading salacious stories about me in 2 Parishes. Perhaps the Son was looking for all of that attention for himself.
She cried when she sang her last Mass @ Sherman & so did I. I now realize that Undercatechised Catholics could fall victim to Well-Versed Fundamentalists, as she fell in love with one in Arizona & has denounced the Catholic Church & all her friends in it.
For this, I shed a few tears a few nights ago. But, with the move to Arizona in 2000 & her parents' lack of true faith, it was bound to take place.
She does, however, have a Special Place in Council History-One of Reunifying Sherman & Sacred Heart & without her consenting to singing the 1st Appalachia Fund Mass, the relationship of Parish & Council would've been merely an Institutional One @ best. I got to know real people & how they lived.
Thank You, Nessa-You're In My Prayers, Always. Peace!

The Real Knights Of Columbus Free Throw

You may have seen this contest in your local parish. Then again, you may have seen parodies connected with me in regards to "FOX Saturday Baseball" where Tim Mc Carver just can't say anything intelligent.

This was not the case today @ Blessed Sacrament Hall @ 109 Pine Street, in Cypress Hills Brooklyn, between Fulton Street & Ridgewood Avenue, in the Parish where Tony Danza grew up.

A 10 Year Old Girl shot 14/15, as well as an 11 Year Old Boy.

Contest lasted less than an hour. The NY Giants lasted for not too much longer & got clocked 23-0 in the NFL Playoffs. It was fun, both working the Contest as well as being in The Old Neighborhood.

T'was a day to remember & have fun doing it.

Professor Thom's Pub

It's a new Boston Red Sox Hangout on 2nd Avenue between East 13th Street & East 14th Street in The East Village, over in Manhattan, often called by we who habitate NYC as "The City." I had a great time. Jim McGuire the One-Time Manager of "The Riviera Cafe'" is one of the owners.

It was jammed tonight. NE Patriots won 28-3 over Jacksonville. I ran into a lot of favourite people. I walked in & got a huge hug from Claire from Phebe's of East 4th Street.

I drank Harpoon Ale. It's a great little brew.

It was a nice beginning. & The soon to be defunct Green Bus Company, let anyone ride for free tonight.

Nice Night!

Welcome to '06

T'was A Great Night To Remember-Happy New Year

I was @ My Red Sox HQ called “The Hairy Monk”, @ East 25th St & 3rd Ave, in Grammercy Park. It's in that Wonderful Irish Publick House, where I got a lot of News over this Year.

Some of that News includes the following:

Those of you who went to “Boston 212”, in the prior locations, may not know this but “Dot Com Charlie” Garland, the sole owner of 212, was looking to merge operations with The Hairy Monk. Seamus Flynn, Owner of The Hairy Monk, told Charlie where to go & made him look forward to the journey;

One-Time Manager of the “Riviera Cafe'”, Jim Mc Guire, bartended @ “Phebe's” Bar @ E. 4th St & Bowery, & has bought a bar @ East 14th St & 3rd Ave.;

Boston 212 has moved to 1074 1st Avenue, between East 58th & East 59th Streets.

I met a few women over the past couple of evenings. One was Amy, a petite lady, who lives in the Grammercy Park area. She cheers for DF Yankees, but a nice woman. She is also a Mac user, with a White iBook. We talked for awhile. She's right about Appleworks-it s---s. There was the customary hug @ the end of the evening.

There were 2 ladies, one of whom was married. The married one lives in Queens. When wearing glasses, she bears a resemblence to “Seinfeld” character Elaine Bennes (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss). The other, a cousin from Boston, looked a bit like a Nun I had in Elementary School in Brooklyn. The Nun was from Boston.

This was a pleasant surprise:
Both are nieces of a Super Bowl III Player from The NY J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets, named John Dockery, who works NFL Monday Night Games on CBS Radio with Marv Albert. Dockery owns a Wall St Messenger Service & lives in Brooklyn Heights. He came from Bay Ridge & went to the Jesuit Preparatory called Brooklyn Preparatory, then was one of the rare NFL players who graduated from Harvard University.

Kathy, the Dockery Niece from Boston, was happy to see me wearing a Red Sox cap. I was overjoyed just to see her. We talked & we hugged. I hope to see Kathy during the '06 Baseball Season & Johnny Damon may just be overrated, especially for signing with DF Yankees.

The memories of Super Bowl III came alive. The talk of Baseball went on. It's about 46 days until pitchers & catchers report to Spring Training. Manny Ramirez is rumored to be going to 126th St & Roosevelt Avenue (Shea Stadium). Let's Go Red Sox; Let's Go Mets; F--- DFYankees. See you in '06. Tim-Shut up!
