Welcome to '06
T'was A Great Night To Remember-Happy New Year
I was @ My Red Sox HQ called “The Hairy Monk”, @ East 25th St & 3rd Ave, in Grammercy Park. It's in that Wonderful Irish Publick House, where I got a lot of News over this Year.
Some of that News includes the following:
Those of you who went to “Boston 212”, in the prior locations, may not know this but “Dot Com Charlie” Garland, the sole owner of 212, was looking to merge operations with The Hairy Monk. Seamus Flynn, Owner of The Hairy Monk, told Charlie where to go & made him look forward to the journey;
One-Time Manager of the “Riviera Cafe'”, Jim Mc Guire, bartended @ “Phebe's” Bar @ E. 4th St & Bowery, & has bought a bar @ East 14th St & 3rd Ave.;
Boston 212 has moved to 1074 1st Avenue, between East 58th & East 59th Streets.
I met a few women over the past couple of evenings. One was Amy, a petite lady, who lives in the Grammercy Park area. She cheers for DF Yankees, but a nice woman. She is also a Mac user, with a White iBook. We talked for awhile. She's right about Appleworks-it s---s. There was the customary hug @ the end of the evening.
There were 2 ladies, one of whom was married. The married one lives in Queens. When wearing glasses, she bears a resemblence to “Seinfeld” character Elaine Bennes (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss). The other, a cousin from Boston, looked a bit like a Nun I had in Elementary School in Brooklyn. The Nun was from Boston.
This was a pleasant surprise:
Both are nieces of a Super Bowl III Player from The NY J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets, named John Dockery, who works NFL Monday Night Games on CBS Radio with Marv Albert. Dockery owns a Wall St Messenger Service & lives in Brooklyn Heights. He came from Bay Ridge & went to the Jesuit Preparatory called Brooklyn Preparatory, then was one of the rare NFL players who graduated from Harvard University.
Kathy, the Dockery Niece from Boston, was happy to see me wearing a Red Sox cap. I was overjoyed just to see her. We talked & we hugged. I hope to see Kathy during the '06 Baseball Season & Johnny Damon may just be overrated, especially for signing with DF Yankees.
The memories of Super Bowl III came alive. The talk of Baseball went on. It's about 46 days until pitchers & catchers report to Spring Training. Manny Ramirez is rumored to be going to 126th St & Roosevelt Avenue (Shea Stadium). Let's Go Red Sox; Let's Go Mets; F--- DFYankees. See you in '06. Tim-Shut up!
