Report Of Mets Pitching Emergency As of This Morning

Last night, things looked good for the NY Mets pitching staff, from a relief pitching perspective. Aaron Heillman was sharp & Billy Wagner got his 29th Save, with the Mets defeating the Colorado Rockies 7-4. The Victory honored the 20th Anniversary of the 1986 World Champion Mets.
This morning, Mets Fans awoke to the news that Tom Glavine’s shoulder may have a blood clot & may end up putting him on the Disabled List for the rest of the ‘06 Season. It may even be Career-Ending. I’m just hoping that it might not be as bad, but the Mets have made contingency plans, by picking up Guillermo Mota, off “The Waiver Wire.”
Stay tuned for further developments, as the situation arises.

Life ending?? I hope not. But blood clots are something serious. They travel, you know.

As the 3 of you may know, I live here in New York City, in the Borough/County of Queens:

Not far from me is Shea Stadium, a place in history, as the site of Game 6 of the 1986 World Series;

On this past Saturday Night, I was in Upper Level of Shea Stadium, watching the ceremonies honoring the 1986 World Champion Mets;

55,085 packed the stadium to the rafters;

Many of them were not old enough to remember this team, & some of them told me that in order to commemorate the 1986 Mets, they root for the Yankees vs the Red Sox;

You may read "The Mighty Quinn Media Machine", & it should be noted that "The Omnipotent Q" is not thrilled with these bandwagoners, as I, also, am not thrilled, as I am one of those "Old Guard" Mets Fans, who also revered Tony Conigliaro, Jim Lonborg & the 1967 Impossible Dream Red Sox;

But, many of us "Old Guard" Mets Fans, were disgusted with the fact that the 1986 World Champion Mets, may as well have been "Colombia's Team", because of all the Cocaine, taken by a lot of that team, so in 1987, I began listening to 1080AM Hartford, to Ken Coleman & Joe Castiglione on Red Sox Broadcasts, on my car radio;

& the "1986 Fans", never experienced any lean years; they are only there for the Good Times, & I have an Incredible Amount of Disdain for them;

I'm happy to know you;
In 12 days, I will experience the Joys & Sorrows of Fenway Park, in the 3rd Game of The Toronto Series @ 7:05PM, Saturday Evening;

Perhaps in another essay, to be written this evening,& to be on the blog, I will talk of rooting for the Olde Town Team & of my Chidhood Team;

Thanks for coming here;

-Michael
