A Liturgical & Oscar Commentary
Tonight is The Academy Awards, televised around the globe.
But at 1230 this afternoon, I went to Mass, which was of the Current Form though different from what I experienced last week.
The Opening Antiphon, though in English, was sung in Plainsong, thus Gregorian Chant, with the Kyrie sung in Greek, the Sanctus sung in Latin, the Agnus Dei sung in Latin and the Communion Antiphon was chanted in Latin. There was no Communion Hymn, as that time is one of prayer and reflection.
The Faithful are not mere sheeple but are rather discerning and look for Catholicity in a Roman Catholic Mass of the Current Rite.
Once the Proper Translations are done, the current Order of The Mass will be more stately in practice and tone.
It'll be sounding Very Catholic Once Again.
