Doug Mc Intyre

From Red Eye Radio, said this about Baseball:
"I'm a Mets Fan. I was born bitter."
Interesting!
Funny, how I made a gut prediction about the St. Louis Cardinals-they lead The Brewers 2 games to 1.
It looks like I may be right about the Cardinals in the World Series.

Explain Losing At Home

Unless there is a Spy Disrupter(Like Antonio Bernezard Was For That "Brain Surgeon", Jeffy Wilpon), The Boston Red Sox Pitching went Kablooey. With Beckett throwing his stuff that would land in Cambridge or Brookline, the Red Sox would not stand a chance.
Now for those of you who thought that this was all "Peaches & Cream", well, I don't think so. With Fandom comes PAIN as well as Pleasure. If the beginning of the Season was nothing to write home about, so was September, 2011.
Jon Lester has a bad habit of throwing 100 pitches by the 6th Inning & them disappearing, which taxes the Bullpen.
In regards to Jon Papelbon, who may be past his Boston Prime, Clutch is not in his vocabulary.
This was a Bridge Season. Unfortunately for the Nation in NYC, we are meeting Mets Fans at those same bridges. Unlike their team's owners who sent money to Bernie From Far Rockaway while Bernie was getting arrested by The Feds, our team's owners were at least trying to put together the Best Team That Money Could Buy.

K-Rod Was Flawless

Good Thing- 3 Up & 3 Down, as the Mets Defeated Washington 9-5 with Tagahashi getting the Win. His trouble is like Mr Matsuzaka with The Red Sox- he can't seem to go past the 6th Inning. Will Minaya address this or will Jeffy announce that the planned new home of the Islanders take precedence.

Wright x 2, Carter & Bay Launched Rockets Against Some Poor Birds

If you are wondering that I am talking about The Baltimore Orioles, you would be correct, as Mets Fans turned Oriole Park at Camden Yards, into Citi Field South. Where are the Orioles Fans? It must be due to the lack of a competetive product on the field. Add the fact that Kevin Millwood doesn't have enough gas to cut one on the 7 Train. David Wright launched 2 Homers, Jason Bay went centerfield yard and Chris Carter put his 2nd MLB Homer, another 3 Run shot to right field, as the Mets swept a road series from The Orioles, this time by an 11-4 Score, giving Mike Pelfrey a 9-1 Record.

Strange how the Red Sox seem to have trouble with the Orioles, truly a team "For The Birds";

The Battle For The Dumbest Owner Title(Mets At Orioles)

The Mets have the Best Home Winning Record in MLB. Sadly, they are on the road, but are in Baltimore where their fortunes may take a turn for the better:

Peter Angelos, Orioles Owner, has not had a Winner in awhile. Then, again, Angelos has a bad habit of getting in the way of his Baseball People. Not since 1997 have the Orioles been competetive. And one wonders why Red Sox Nation outnumbers Oriole partisans 3-1 on most nights;

Jeffy Wilpon, runs the Mets just like Angelos, like into the ground.

The Latest From The Mets-Surely They Jest

The Signing of Tim Redding looks so Post-Y2K World Series. It's as if Minaya is being turned into Steve Phillips all over again. That was a time when Fred Wilpon vetoed so many deals, so he could plot to buy out Nellie Doubleday. Shades of Steve Trachsel, Anyone?

WHY Are The '08 Rays Being Compared To The '69 Mets? WHY?

For WHATEVER Reason, I feel that this is a strange comparison:

In 1967, The NY Mets were in 10th Place. In 1968, they were 73-89 and in 9th Place in the National League;

In July, 1969, they were just behind the Cubs. On August 15th, 1969, the Mets were in 3rd Place in the National League East;

On September 10th, 1969, the Mets Passed The Cubs, by defeating the Montreal Expos in the 1st Game of a Doubleheader(Twi-Night at Shea Stadium), and never trailed again, as the Chicago Cubs were s--ting the proverbial bed. On September 24th, a Wednesday Night, with Lindsey Nelson on WOR 9, and Bob Murphy on WJRZ 970AM(The FAN Didn't Exist), The Mets won the 1st Eastern Division Championship of the National League. The Game started at 7:05PM ET and ended at 9:07PM ET, when St Louis Cardinals 3rd Baseman and Perpetual Green Tea Drinker, St Joseph Of Torre, cracked into a double play. Gary Gentry was the Winning Pitcher, and even cracked a smile for the TV Cameras. There was Joy in The Borough of Queens and Stu Sternberg of Canarsie, Brooklyn, was only 10 Years Old;

I saw 7 Mets Games that year. They only won 2 of the games I saw. The Mets drew about 2.5 Million Fans through the Shea Turnstiles;

They made easy work of The Atlanta Braves, The NL West Champions, then took the Heavily-Favored Baltimore Orioles, 4 Games to One, losing their 1st WS Game, 4-1 in Memorial Stadium in Baltimore. The Orioles drew over 1.2 Million Fans in a place, which is now an empty lot;

So, O Brilliant M L B Comparison Freaks, WTF is this equivication between Tampa Bay and The Mets?

Tampa Bay drew 1.3 Million Fans(strange For a 1st Place team for most of the '08 Season, or ANY Season), NOT 2.5 Million Fans. And according to MLB's way of counting attendance, the American League Standard of counting Tickets Sold, instead of Physical Passing Through Turnstiles(The NL Method), was utilized here. The 2.5 Million Fans in 1969, was counted by actual attendance(Paid that is). 4 to 6 Sellouts tell me that Tampa Bay was not an enthusiastic Baseball Town. If we go according to NL Standards, I would say that Tampa Bay only drew about 800K, if at all;

Mets Fans in 1969 brough their Lungs and Signs to ball games. ONLY in Postseason, did Tampa Bay bring their Cowbells to the Games and that was ONLY in Postseason. Cowbell Man at Shea Stadium, was the ONLY Guy I knew, who brought a cowbell to Mets Games. I guess that this is the place where Stu Sternberg got his idea to ply Tampa Bay Fans with Cowbells, as well as assorted noisemakers, possibly bought at a garage sale of clearance items from Jeffy's Bar Mitzvah;

Had The Boston Red Sox been at peak health, without Manny Being an A--h-le, The Famous Not So Original Rays, who play in a glorified circus tent, might have been out of this situation, quickly. Instead, on FOX and tbs(Very Funny), we saw all of the Bandwagoning Frauds, passing as fans in The Giant Cloth Tent. They showed up trying to pass as fans, and did a lousy job. They looked out of place, not unlike Marlins Fans, who need to be told when to stand, sit, cheer and fart in sequence. It was disgusting. They had a winner and didn't know it for most of the '08 Season;

You wouldn't catch this in Boston at Fenway Park, where Fans are Fans, not a bunch of Socialites, who show up once every few years, when the mood suits them;

Jeffy May Lose His Spy

Mr Antonio Bernazard, A spy and Instigator for Jeffy Wilpon, will be interviewing for General Manager of the Seattle Mariners:

This S--- Stirrer, in the name of Jeffy The Rattler(Jeffy does have a rattle), sowed seeds of dissension, so Jeffy could get even with Willie Randolph, because Jeffy was beaten out of "$.55", in Contract Extension Negotiations;

WHAT part did this guy play into making for ONE, HIDEOUS Mets Bullpen?

"A Clueless Putz" Until 2012(Click Title To ESPN For Minaya Propaganda)

While The Omnipotent Q, Mr Quinn of Midwood, Brooklyn, writes of Omar Minaya as a Clueless Putz, I heartily Concur in his assesment and say Thanks:

Omar Minaya obtained junk to set up Willie Randolph, because Jeffy Wilpon, That Sinister Little S--t, hated Randolph's Guts over a Contract Extension;

You see, Minaya hired Tony Bernazard as Director Of Player Development for The NY Mets. Bernazard was utilized by Jeffy to disrupt clubhouse chemistry. Omar folded up like a cheap camera. Omar fired Willie Randolph in the Middle Of The Night. Bernazard left Jerry Manuel Alone. Omar failed to address the Hideous Little S--t Bullpen Situation;

He got rewarded for all this. For You See, Internal Politics is more important to Jeffy Wilpon and Omar Minaya, than the On Field Product. No wonder(Bwahahahahahahahhaha) The Mets Flopped-A--h-les were in charge;

The Riviera List '08 Season List-Farewell Shea Stadium Edition

It was at the End of The '07 Season, where I went TOTALLY-BALLISTIC on The NY Mets. I did leave out a name of a Certain FRANCHISE-WRECKER, because he's now on the list:

As you know my policy, the "F" Word, and I don't mean Fiddlesticks, precedes the name of the person being "Honored", by inclusion in this list;

F--k Omar Minaya-FRANCHISE-Wrecker in Montreal, he brings these "Talents" to Shea Stadium and now Citi Field. Wrecking the s--t out of The Bullpen, letting Chad Bradford Go to get Scott Schowenweiss? How much Coca Tea were you drinking? Henry Owens for Jason Vargas? Vargas was DFA'd Dude. Matt Lindstrom for Adam Bostick? WHERE TF is Adam Bostick? Darren Oliver for Joe Smith, who burned out in '07? Did You and Jeffy Moron concoct this strategy to get rid of Willie Randolph? Quinn The Omnipotent is RIGHT-You are BAD F---ing NEWS. When do you plan to sign Steve Carlton? Julian Javier? Tim Mc Carver? I just want to puke. Luis Ayala is your tribute to junk;

F--k Jeffy Wilpon-Conspirital Schmuck, running a 3rd World Country called the Mets, is heavily involved in Player Decisions. Schmuck is lucky he can run the Brooklyn Cyclones. Jeffy got an Instigator into the Clubhouse to ruin Willie Randolph's Time As Manager. What happened Jeffy? Did Willie beat you out of $.55? I just want to puke, preferably on your shoes;

F--k Tony Bernezard-Player Development Director. Hired by Minaya The Liar to be a Talent Evaluator, Jeffy The Schmuck turns him into the Clubhouse Instigator, leading to Randolph's Downfall. I want to piss on your shoes;

F--k Freddie Wilpon, just because;

F--k Sol Katz(See Freddie and Jeffy);

F--k Scott Schowenweiss, who pitched like he wanted to watch "The Remys" on NESN in October;

F--k Aaron Heilman;

F--k Luis Ayala;

F--k Duaner Sanchez(The Dominican Food Run at 1:30AM);

And The Rest of The Usual Suspects as follows;

F--k The Yankees;

F--k Jeter(He Might Like it);

F--k A-Rod(If Madonna isn't doing it);

F--k Madonna(Who Hasn't);

F--k Hank Steinbrenner;

From FOX Sports;

F--k Buck(Mr Disinterested);

F--k Mc Cavah(I Think Youkilis Would Make A Good #8 Hitter With The Pitcher Due Up)-IN The A L C S? Have you been sipping the Coca Tea with Minaya?

As Always, F--k That Faux Red Sox Bar With The Clemens Photo, run by a Yankees Fan, "The Riviera";

Shea Stadium Is NOW History

It's OVER NOW.The Mets came up short. The Fans cried. Then they witnessed Mets History before their Eyes:

In this history, they saw guys like Fat Jack Fisher, Ron Hunt(Their 1st All Star), all the way to Tom Seaver and Mike Piazza;

Yogi Berra was given a Huge Welcome. Why? You see, Yogi played 4 Games in Shea's Right Field in 1965 and Coached 1st Base on the 1969 World Champion Mets and Managed the 1973 "Ya Gotta Believe" National League Championship Mets;

Ralph Kiner got a Hero's Welcome, as he's been with The Club, on Radio and Television, since 1962;

The 1986 World Championship Mets, perhaps The Baddest Bunch ever to Win A World Series, played a role here. Darryl Strawberry, Doc Gooden, Howard Johnson, Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez+Jesse Orosco and Tim Teufel, were all there;

Cleon Jones and Ron Swoboda were there as well. The ONLY Member of BOTH The 1986 and 1969 World Champions, Bud Harrelson, was there as well. Ed Kranepool and Wayne Garrett, both members of the 1969 World Championship, as well as the '73 NL Championship, were there;

Willie Mays, like Yogi Berra, doesn't walk around too easily. Willie, who saw action in The Polo Grounds with the NY Giants, before going out to Frisco, came back in 1972 in a trade. Willie was in the 1973 World Series at age 42 with the Mets;

In The Closing Cerfemonies, Those Mets Greats, all touched Home Plate, on last time. Yogi looked a little confused in touching the plate. It was sad;

A touching moment came when it was "The Last Pitch At Shea Stadium" as Tom Seaver threw it to Mike Piazza on a bounce. They then waved to the Throng at Shea Stadium, and disappeared behind The Centerfield Fence, thus Closing Shea Stadium;

The Fireworks were shot off;

Others who were honored included Lee Mazilli and John Franco(Franco was on the 2000 NL Championship, with Lee from both the Lean Years and 1986 World Championship). Dave "King Kong" Kingman, a part of some good years, whose homers would land on the scoreboard, was there. So was Doug Flynn, a Fine 2nd Baseman, who also saw the Lean Years, but was part of The Reds 1976 World Championship;

My Memories of Shea Stadium;

September, 1966 and my 1st Game, where the Mets lost 6-0;

September, 1976, where Seaver struck out his 200th Batter for the 9th Straight Season(Pirates Catcher Manny Sanguillen);

April 8th, 1969 with Mets losing to the Montreal Expos(NOW the Washington Nationals), 11-10 with Mets Pinch Hitter, Duffy Dyer, hitting the ONLY Pinch Hit Homer in 1969;

And many others, including The Pope John Paul II Visit in October, 1979 and a Jets Playoff Game in December, 1969;

And the Night The Mets Clinched the 2000 Wild Card, vs The Braves;

And The Night that in The Subway Series, Carlos Delgado and David Wright, Homered into a Clear and Cold Sunday Night, in '06;

And Many Others, including my last-ever game there, in August, '08(The Bullpen RUINED A Fine Pedro Martinez Performance);

AND So it Goes;

"Shea Goodbye";

Ron Darling, Keith Hernandez, both got emotional. So Did I;

Farewell Shea Stadium;

Mr Met pulled down the #1 Sign and the Sign read "Citi Field";

Farewell-It's been a flood of memories;

Good Night;

Shea Stadium Is Gone!

That will be a footnote;
