Nomar's Retirement-Further Information

This morning, Nomar Garciaparra signed a One Day Minor League Contract with the Boston Red Sox, for the purpose of allowing Nomar to retire from Baseball, from the organization he started with, at 10:30AM. In 1997, Nomar was the practically-unanimous choice for AL Rookie Of The Year.

I saw Nomar in 1997 @ both Shea Stadium & Fenway Park, on Saturday, June 15th and again on Saturday, June 29th, 1997 at Fenway Park.
