Funny, But YouTube #s Don't Impress Me
When The Council 5103 Knights Of Columbus Viewing #s came out, I was pleased with the Number of Viewers on blip.tv, DailyMotion.com & Vimeo.com. The fact is that new audiences for the K of C Free Throw can be had without putting all of these competitions on YouTube.
The trouble with the YouTube #s is that while the Council Competition had huge #s, a 70% drop by the next round in viewers, precipitated the carriage of the Queens County Championship exclusively on DailyMotion.com. There was also evidence of audience fudging by certain parents in East Glendale & Middle Village, which did not give a true audience. This is WHY YouTube carriage will be limited to The Long Island Final, as part of a team of Video Sharing Services. And YouTube is basically being used as upload app for Ireland's iVideo.ie, where the real viewers are.
