In effect was the Apple Newton Message Pad, 1 LB of machine, too big to fit in a shirt pocket. Apple discontinued Newton in 1998. There was even a Special Edition for The Schools, which served as the Clamshell Design for the 1st iBook Laptops.
The iPhone, iPod Touch & iPad are descendants of the Newton Line.
When Microsoft tried Windows Tablets, they were flops.
