Now Back To Red Sox Nation

Courtesy of Posterous, I can now write my Red Sox posts, without having to open my Mobile Safari Browser, which can be a pain in the tuchas.
The NY Yankees are starting to look so "1965"ish. What is meant by that is "Ancient". If you were a Baseball Fan in that time, you noticed an anomaly in that year-The NY Yankees were NOT going anywhere in that year. They had aged & NOT like Fine Wine, as they were becoming bitter like Vinegar. Even that mainstay, Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra, crossed the Tri-Borough Bridge to finish his playing days in Shea Stadium in Corona, Queens, as well as be a 1st Base Coach for the Then-Fledgling NY Mets in The National League. Imagine, Yogi ending his days in the NL!
And now, another Yankees Catcher of considerable length, one Jorge Posada, soon to be 40, now a Designated Hitter, is an angry man. Is it that his body is betraying him? Face it, being crouched down behind that plate takes a toll on knees. Even Yogi, who had some speed, eventually moved to Right Field, which is where he retired from playing. As a child, Yogi got his agility from playing Soccer, so his transition to Right Field was pretty smooth.
In Yogi's Era, there was no Designated Hitter.
Posada should count his blessings that he is still around.
Derek Sanderson Jeter is around & is slowing down. When I was a child in Brooklyn, 35 was considered OLD for Baseball. Now, 43 is the new 35.
Now, should the Yankees finish nowhere near post-season, which is a real possibility, their "Fans"(To use the term loosely), will wail, moan & gnash their teeth. Their real fans will still turn out, but the Hipsters & Social Climbers won't be around.
Imagine a Post-Season Without The NY Yankees!
Now THAT Would Be Nice.
