Fr Francis Colamaria Is Right On About These Subjects
On Freedom & Sacrifice:
There were 56 Gentlemen who signed the Declaration of Independence over July 4th & 5th in 1776. All ended up impoverished. One signer was dragged out of his home while his wife lay dying. The British Army took the man prisoner. He was allowed to return home, found his wife dead & his 13 Children were missing;
On Prayer in The Public Schools;
Prayer belongs in Church and at Home. In case of the public school, who would lead the prayer & WHAT Kind of prayer would it be. Father does pose a good question. It is Food For Thought;
Seperation Of Church & State;
No Nation Established Church exists here, unlike England where the Church of England is the State Church, whose Titular Ruler is the Reigning Monarch;
Up to 1940, The Commonwealth of Massachusetts had an Official State Established Church, The Congregational Church, from the time of The Puritans. The individual states could have their own Established Churches but not the Nation according to the Bill Of Rights.
Father did put it this way-there are more practicing Catholics than Anglicans, in England today.
